JAMB restores CAPS and sets 2026/2027 admission deadlines
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System after a temporary disruption and has asked tertiary institutions to speed up the 2026/2027 admission process.
JAMB said CAPS was fully operational again and urged institutions to recover lost time so they can meet the approved admission deadlines. It also advised candidates to accept admission offers promptly when they are available.
Public universities are expected to conclude their 2026/2027 admission exercise by October 31, 2026. Private universities have until November 30, while other tertiary institutions are expected to complete their admission processes by December 31.
The board also asked candidates who had been awaiting examination results to upload or verify their credentials after the release of the 2026 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination results.
JAMB said the update was needed so candidates’ results would be available for consideration as institutions intensify admission work. The board apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience.
CAPS is JAMB’s electronic platform for managing admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions. It allows institutions to recommend candidates for admission and allows candidates to accept or reject offers.
