Navy chief urges 135 new officers to stay ready after commissioning
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has urged 135 newly commissioned Nigerian Navy officers to remain physically fit, professionally competent and ready for service.
Abbas gave the charge at the Combined Passing Out Parade, Pipping and Commissioning Ceremony held at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Afaka, Kaduna.
President Bola Tinubu was represented at the ceremony by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. The naval chief told the officers that their commissioning marked the beginning of a demanding career of leadership and responsibility.
He asked them to uphold discipline, loyalty and professional integrity, and to avoid conduct that could undermine their service as the Navy responds to security demands in the maritime domain and joint operations.
